Company History

JP is a Portuguese stringed instruments custom shop based in Olhão, Algarve.

The company initially started building bass guitars and soon diversified into customising.

The JP customising centre researches and develops its own stringed instruments.
This had led to the significant modification of its own instrument range and JP has built specific models for national and international musicians.

Since the year 2000 the JP brand has presented several models of guitars and basses.

The range is characterized by an emphasis on attractive design and the availability of a wide spectrum of options for materials, components and finishing to the customer’s specific requirements.

This diverse experience in customising has led to JP Custom Guitars arriving at its own unique and distinctive style and becoming a leader in its field.

All instruments made by JP Custom Guitars are hand made in Portugal from 100% solid wood.
